Reward System: PPLNS (#9)

PPLNS in one of known and proved reward systems. If you know PPLNS and want it, vote!

Brief summary of PPLNS features:

  • Last N shares submitted by all pool users before finding a block is used for rewards calculation.
  • Rewards are being split among users with the same ratio as their contribution in the last N shares (e.g. if you submitted 1% from the last N shares, you would receive 1% of rewards).
  • The N typically equals to the value of difficulty or small multiple of network difficulty.
  • It is probably more difficult to visualize and explain it then continuous scoring (which shows scoring hash rate).
  • If this proposal gets chosen by our users, we would implement shift-less PPLNS.

  • I would prefer the ability to switch from Scoring Hash Rate to PPLNS, whichever is your personal preference,

  • I think the current reward system is the best. It is the most fair, the most resistent against cheating and the most interesting.

  • It's always good to have multiple options. Everybody can choose PPS or PPLNS 100 Votes

  • Wasting power? The only good thing about not having pplns is the fact that small miners wont jump in this pool that much because its so much smaller. But they could put the option to have both so you can choose.

  • I think a 10 or 15 minute(example) payout system (shift) is better If I contribute I get paid for the shifts I complete correct? and if my miners go down half way into a 18 hour block I get nothing the way it is currently, on a shift system I still get what I worked for. That's the way payouts should work, so when peoples hardware dies for whatever reason they at least get paid for what they contribute.
