Average Time To Find A Block (#83)

In the pool statistics an average time to find the last 100 blocks would be really helpful. It's a lot easier to read than the CDF and will give a better estimate of how long it will take to reach a certain reward. (as it makes the calculations easy)

Comments & Updates

  • You would think this is the first thing that would have been created. Yes, I want transparency and I want the statistics related to block creation. Not just proof of work, miners evolved level of contribution of those miners and total fees paid and where.

  • As far as I can tell this is already implemented: https://slushpool.com/stats/ "Average Round Duration"

  • I find CDF fairly easy to read,,,

  • While I like the idea I can see a downside to this. Every time there is a long block people will flood irc or other support channels with it's been more than x times or where y minutes over the estimated block time why hasn't there been a block yet. If a mining calculator section were added this would be the place for something like that where it's clearly labeled an estimate. There is already code available for the calculations (use it myself for irc bot).
