  • I like the idea. Just an extra way for people to add extra processing power to the pool. People have more ways to earn rewards, the pool gets more income as a result, leading to greater resources available to further improve the pool.

  • This site has a nice draw towards bitcoin, I would also love to see that thrown into a multi-pool/alt coin setup so mining other coins can be profitable as well.

  • I don't care for anything Script personally, I'd be stoked for merged mining of SHA-256 based coins like namecoin though, no additional effort + additional coin is good by me. Subdomains aren't needed, merely increment the port numbers. Instead of :3333, use :3332 or :3334, whatever. Different ports are different pools, same domain, same url. Peter

  • Hey the more they hate it the less they don't bro. I my self would have rather have all the gear in my house then cloud mine any day . :). so Plz do put this in , i even fire up my GPUs :) .
    — toptek, 27 November 2014, 22:11
  • Actually, bring back all those old GPU's into play, and support an altcoin like Feathercoin with Neoscrypt. I have actually made more BTC mining feathercoin with my 2 R9-280X cards and trading it on BTC-E, this month, then I have made with my BE Cube and BFL Jalapeno here on Slushpool. I am preety sure most of us still have GPU's capable and profitable for mining, as long as its not one of the ASIC mineable PoW coins. So why not bring them into play ?

  • See. All this talk on people hating it. But from what I gather. Why not simply have. the pool has its main addres for BTC but than you can point ur miners to another sub domain for Slushs pool which links you to the merged mining. for example. the address we all use right now for mining the btc IT STAYS. Impliment Merged mining and/or altcoins and such. Have ANOTHER subdomain or sister domain which you can use if you want to mine Altcoins and BTC. This way.. nobody looses anything and nobody has to go out of their way to limit this. I wouldnt mind picking up on some Altcoins... Scrypt coins would be nice... but not without a scrypt coin miner.

  • glad to see you going to add alt coins as well i stop mining BTC and now make more off alt coins I am making close to 96$ a day in alt coins on west hash woth less speed then i would need for BTC if this site does that I'm in for sure . I don't have to prove it to any one and not going to. this is just a comment dir to slash saying Thank You .

  • It is not the idea of a bigger electric bill. I understand that my electric bill would not increase. I simply choose to restrict the existing use of electricity to BTC only. Mining other coins would detract from the compute cycles used for BTC. Therein is the waste of electricity.

  • Great idea, just got my new shipment of gridseeds, and I would love to use them with this pool rather than another.
    — bit_minter, 18 November 2014, 11:11
  • i'm nuetral on this topic. Do have two ltc miners i don't have working, and the pool is user friendly. Namecoin would be a nice alt coin add.,

  • X11 darkcoin as an option for people to opt to a lower power consumption profile. DRK also establishing itself with confidence as an alt.
    — ceti, 18 November 2014, 08:11
  • Hey slush! I think this is a great idea. I also strongly believe that there should be a technology-multipool. For instance if i have two miners for sha256 and two for scrypt, i souls like to point them to the respective pool. Also have the pool, like clevermining and others, make all the exchanges and whatever in the background so i get my prefered coin as output for my work.
    — sa3bib, 18 November 2014, 07:11
  • other SHA256 that can be merge mined sure, but scrypt? c'mon man
    — kkurtmann, 18 November 2014, 06:11
  • waste of time
    — kkurtmann, 18 November 2014, 06:11
  • Actually all these features (if chosen and implemented) will be opt-in, it means nothing will change for users who don't want to mine other altcoins. So you don't need to worry about bigger electric bill because of it...
    — slush, 18 November 2014, 02:11
  • I pay big electric bill. I do not care to use any cpu cycles/horsepower for anything other than BTC. Altcoins are not of value enough for me to care about them at all.
